This week in Mumbai is all about pampering the spirit. Are you an ardent, incorrigible admirer of Shakespeare? Would a 99 minute long compilation of all his 37 works interest you? Would it be even better if it were rib-ticklingly funny? If you answered yes to any of the above questions then head to Sophia’s for exactly that – a 99 minute long hilarious take on 37 of Shakespeare’s awe-inspiring classics. Performed by three of some of India’s funniest minds, Brij Bhakta (an actor and veteran comic) Aadar Malik (member of Schitz – en – Giggles and an improv comedian) and of course, Neville Shah (a comic with a penchant for relatable humour), the show promises to be a quirky little laugh riot. Look out for the (self-proclaimed) world record for the shortest-ever performance of Hamlet which lasts for a grand total of 43 seconds.

Nilesh Vede’s ‘Selfie’Nilesh Vede’s ‘Selfie’
This Tuesday will be the last day of artist Nilesh Vede’s interesting six-day solo painting exhibition at Hirji Jehangir Art Gallery. Titled ‘Selfie’, the showcase revolves around the artist’s fascinating perspective on the latest fad to have taken the self-obsessed world by storm. “‘Selfie’ is an inspiring word. I have a different point of view on what a ‘Selfie’ could be. It can be an artistic way of self-reflection, observation of your own thoughts and actions,” said the artist about his unique initiative.

In Celebration of Independence Day, Nom Nom will be serving a delicious set meal at the unusual and symbolic price of Rs. 1947. The sumptuous menu for two will boast of plenty of favourites from the exquisite Asian eatery and will comprise of four main courses with plenty of options available in each course. Parsley soup, chicken in chilli basil, Malaysian curry with burnt garlic rice and decadent molten chocolate are some of the mouth-watering dishes on offer. Also a part of the tempting offering will be two non alcoholic beverages. Ideal if you are in the mood for something spicy and oriental on the 15th.

Alliance Francaise will be hosting a wonderful wine-tasting workshop this Tuesday. The two hour long workshop is the perfect opportunity for wine enthusiasts in the city who are looking to brush up on their wine knowledge and etiquette. The workshop will also help guests get a better understanding of the intricate journey of wine which starts with wine making and ends with wine tasting. On offer for guests are some of Fratelli’s finest wines, such as the sweet white Chenin Blanc and the earthy, spicy full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon amongst others.
