This week in Mumbai we’re family time. With the end of the year work load piling up and the monstrous distraction that is winter begging us to sleep for a couple of extra hours, family time has gone out the window. Set aside a bit of time to squeeze in a visit to an art gallery, indulge in a delicious Singaporean meal at the Four Seasons or even just to catch a few laughs together at the Canvas Laugh Club. What we’d recommend though, is going together as a family to catch the marvel that is mentalist Lior Suchard, blow your minds! Whatever you do this week, don’t forget to take your familia along!
Pocket Maps of the Mind
Our minds, both complex and intriguing have a fascinating relationship with memory. Exploring this layered relationship further through their art our seven raconteurs (the artists of the exhibition) who have evocatively illustrated the process our mind undergoes while internalising and translating objects, smells, voices, pictures, experiences, emotions into a memory, or a mind map of sorts. Curated by Veeranganakumari Solanki, the exhibit will feature the works of Prayas Abhinav, Nandan Ghiya, Sonia Jose, Payal Kapadia, and Sahej Rahal amongst others. A must visit for art lovers in the city.

Sama’a The Mystic Ecstasy (Sufiana Songs by Kailash Kher)
If you, like us are easily enchanted by Kailash Kher’s oh so melodious voice, his performance at the Tata Theatre this week is not to be missed! The talented singer will be performing a large number of Sufiana compositions including a few songs based in Bollywood. Performances of his cult hits like Teri Deewani and Allah Ke Bande are of course, expected. Kher, he started his musical journey as a traditional folk singer today is one of the most widely-appreciated Sufi singers in the world, he even has his own band called Kailasa which also has an impressive fan following.

Singapore Food Festival
Treat your palate to a delicious trip to Singapore from right here in your city. Chef Kho Keng Hoon, a veteran in authentic Singaporean cuisine is bringing to San-Qi at the Four Seasons a mouth-watering spread of some of the best flavours from the South of the Yangtze. Some of the menu offerings which has got us particularly drooling include are Hokkien style fried mee sua with vegetables, Baked paper wrapped oriental mushrooms, Wok fried beef tenderloin with shallots and garlic, and Hokkaido scallops with XO chili sauce. We can’t wait to get our spice on!

Lior Suchard is a name now synonymous with mind blowing, Leonardo Di Caprio to Aamir Khan, Zac Efron to Ranbir Kapoor, all will attest to that.
