Taking luxury homeware to a whole different level, Thomas Goode has had a long, illustrious history. The fact that they have created services for Queen Victoria, the last Czar of Russia and the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, says think about their credibility. It is for the first time in its nearly two-century history that it has opened the doors to a new store: The Oberoi in India.
There is also a museum space showcasing some of the most important historical pieces ever made by the brand. Think special monogrammed plates, hand-painted cake platters to stunning bespoke candles, the British label also stocks well-known heritage brands like Hermès, Sevres, Herend, and Baccarat at their showroom.
In partnership with Malvika Poddar, a leading fashion maven, and owner of Jahan Luxury and Carma India, it is the brand’s first store outside of London. The tableware commissioned by royal houses features their insignia, monograms, and personalised motifs. From plates from the Royal House of Bikaner to ones that belonged to the Tsar of Russia – this space is sure to leave one swooning over its design aesthetics and details.
In 1845, William Goode moved the business to 19 South Audley Street, the prestigious Mayfair location it still occupies today. From this grand address (five stories and 48,000 sq ft of space), he provided a uniquely personal service to Europe’s great families, supplying exquisitely designed and crafted dinner services that would become treasured family heirlooms for generations. It is interesting to note that it is the creation of monograms that has epitomized the bespoke service that the Thomas Goode business has become known all across the world. Their collection in the latest store only screams class, exclusivity, and opulence.
