Dinner & A Movie at the Tasting Room
This Wednesday, celebrate date night at Tasting Room’s Dinner & A Movie. This much-awaited monthly event involves the screening of a unique culturally-relevant film followed by a delicious three course set meal comprising of appetizers, mains and desserts. The movie being featured this month is James Ivory’s 1963 classic The Householder which is based on a novel by Jhabvala of the same name. The charming dramedy about a school teacher and his forced marriage to a young girl sees brilliant performances by movie legends Shashi Kapoor and Leela Naidu and is a must watch.

Admirers of the legendary tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, will not want to miss the interactive session being held with him this Wednesday at the NCPA. Watch the Padma Shri get candid about his inspirational journey, his music, his art and the several struggles and challenges that he faced, with eminent sitar player and Hindustani classical musician – Arvind Parikh. The event promises to provide fans of the ace musician a never before insight into the virtuoso’s life and work. Admission to the event will be on a first come first serve basis.

The Sassy Spoon Fundraising Dinner
Treat yourself to a lip-smacking six course set dinner by some of the finest chefs in the city. The outstanding line-up of chefs cooking includes Irfan Pabaney(The Sassy Spoon), Pooja Dhingra (Le 15), Kshama Prabhu (White Owl), Greshan Fernandes (Impressario), Jaydeep Mukherjee (Indigo Deli) and Viraf Patel (Cafe Zoe) who will each create a course inspired by their childhood. The menu will feature nostalgia-inducing Modern Indian fare and each meal will be accompanied by a glass of Jacob’s Creek wine. The best part of the event is that all the proceeds earned from it will go to towards the treatment of cancer patients through an NGO called Pall Can Care.
