The tiger-inspired Range Rover SV Ranthambore Edition is the first-ever special edition by JLR exclusively created for India

Range Rover has introduced the first-ever special edition exclusively created for India. Behold the Range Rover SV Ranthambore Edition, a limited edition based on the long-wheelbase version of Range Rover and inspired by the country’s national animal, the majestic tiger. You might have guessed it already; the special edition has been named after the Ranthambore National Park. Limited to just 12 examples, the Ranthambore Edition has been created by the automaker’s bespoke SV division.

The exterior of the Ranthambore Edition is finished in a unique shade of black that features a “rich red shimmering effect.” The paint job is contrasted with Corinthian Bronze accents (grille, bumpers, side gills, mirror caps, tailgate, and badges) and several Anthracite inserts designed to look like tiger stripes. The same Corinthian bronze inserts can also be found on the 23-inch dark grey wheels.

The tiger-inspired theme continues inside the cabin. The plush seats are upholstered in a combination of Caraway and light Perlino semi-aniline leather with contrast stitching. Furthermore, the seats are embroidered with a motif inspired by the stripes as they meet on a tiger’s spine. Other special touches include customised scatter cushions, noble chrome jewellery finishes, light linear wenge veneers, and a white ceramic dial. The exclusive edition also features a special tread plate inscribed with the ‘Ranthambore Edition’ and ‘1 of 12’ designation.

The limited edition is powered by the automaker’s 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which produces 394bhp and 550Nm. The same engine can also be found in the Autobiography variant. The Range Rover SV Ranthambore Edition is priced at ₹4.98 crore (ex-showroom). Range Rover says it will donate some proceeds from each vehicle sale to Wildlife Conservation Trust “for strengthening tiger and wildlife conservation efforts.”
