Slim d’Hermès: A new collection of ultra-thin watches

The French luxury brand Hermès introduced a collection of ultra-thin watches, at Baselworld 2015. The brand’s new watches cut an impressive figure, they continued to weight-in with impressive complications, including the Slim d’Hermès Perpetual Calendar.

The Slim d’Hermès was born of the desire to create a “staple” collection, a line of wristwatches for everyday wear, but available in a variety of sizes, metals, and even functions. At the heart of the Slim d’Hermès Manufacture beats the H1950 ultra-thin movement. Revealed through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, it drives displays of the hours, minutes and small seconds. The 2.6 mm calibre ensures a 42-hour power reserve. Automatic winding is ensured by a technically complex micro-rotor. The finishes, including hand-chamfered bridges, reflect profound respect for watchmaking traditions and like all Hermès movements, Calibre H1950 is carpeted with a “sprinkling of Hs” motif.

Slim d’Hermès is a manufacture collection, which pays tribute to the saddlery and leather-crafting expertise of the Maison.
