Rolls Royce Phantom VIII: Car with the quietest cabin arrives in India


British luxury marque Rolls Royce has just unveiled its all-new Phantom 2018 version in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs. 9.5 cr. that escalates to Rs. 11.35 cr. for the top-end trim.

According to the company, the Phantom in its eighth generation has received a cabin full of updates. It is built on an aluminium spaceframe platform which is lightweight yet rigid borrowed by the carmaker’s first SUV – Cullinan, further adding to its performance and fuel efficiency.

Coursing inside the cabin, the door opening and closing buttons, champagne chiller and flutes, a Starlight roof, and the single-unit fixed glass with the width of the dashboard is a customizable canvas to be tuned to the customer’s favourite artwork. And, not to forget the dead-silent ambience created in the cabin, a job at which this car is magnificent at. All these spurt overwhelming luxury packed together in this luxury car.

This architectural beauty also boasts a powerful 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 petrol engine putting out a staggering power of 563 hp and 900 Nm of peak torque hitting in at very low rpm. The car can surge from a naught to 100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds.

Talking about the dimensions and the external cosmetic features, the Phantom VIII is 77 mm shorter, 29 mm wider and about 8 mm taller than its predecessor and showcases a 5,700 mm of length on the standard trim while the extended wheelbase variant is 282 mm longer than the standard version. On the outside, the Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII boasts new LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a larger 24-slat chrome grille, and new LED taillights too.

Similar to the other Rolls-Royce cars, the Phantom VIII could be completely customised by the customers where they would be able to choose from 44,000 exterior colours with personalised design on request.
