The sheets of rain will be washing the city down for a few more months to come but that couldn’t dampen the exhilarating thrill of an all-new Rolls-Royce in town. It wouldn’t be a great pick for this weather, being a convertible and all, but will absolutely rule the streets when it does arrive with its weighty INR 6.25 crore price tag. This is the second convertible from the company after the Phantom Drophead Coupe.
The Dawn is an absolute regal wonder on wheels. With a claim that it is the quietest convertible on earth, you would expect a car that glides over the busy Mumbai streets, turning heads. It is an elaborate car measuring 5285 mm in length, 1947 mm in width and is over a meter and a half high. It weight 2.5 tons and is quite the bulky beast you could expect from the house of Rolls-Royce. The soft-top is convertible at speeds of 50 kmph and takes about 22 seconds to setup or collapse.
The Dawn is powered by a 6.6-liter V12 petrol engine that produces 563 bhp and 780 Nm of torque. It is driven on a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox, taking it from 0 – 100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds, this, despite its bulk. The 20-inch alloy wheels are available in stock with an upgradable 21-inch option available as well.
