Mumbai is a city that never sleeps, which is precisely why it needs massages. Thankfully, Four Seasons Mumbai offers a haven of solace right in the heart of it all. Whether you need a quick escape after a long day at work (the spa is open till 10 pm) or relief from a grueling flight (they offer a dedicated Jet-Lag Recovery treatment), this wellness sanctuary knows exactly how to revive a weary soul. My visit to the Four Seasons in Worli couldn’t have come at a better time. Worn out from travel, sore from my fitness routine, and mentally drained, I knew a spa session would help, but I didn’t expect it to completely renew me in just 75 minutes.

I was welcomed by the warm, hospitable staff of the beautifully designed Four Seasons Spa. A gracious reception was followed by a soothing glass of detox water, a gentle prelude to the indulgent experience that awaited me. The only tough moment since arriving at the five-star Worli property was choosing which massage to opt for from their comprehensive menu. Tempting options included Neroli, featuring aromatherapy strokes that promote lymphatic flow and detoxification, and Noir, a deep-pressure muscle recovery treatment. Wanting something neither too light nor too intense, I settled on Myrrh, a medium-firm fusion of Thai pressure-point therapy and Swedish-style kneading.

The session began with a foot cleansing ritual in a large bowl infused with bath salts, ghee, and exfoliants. It was the perfect prelude to the Myrrh massage, which opened with a bang: the Kansa massage, using a traditional dome-shaped wand made of copper and tin to gently release tension in my feet, a true blessing for a perpetually on-the-move Mumbaikar. What followed may well have been the best 75 minutes of my week. This meticulously crafted treatment seamlessly blended Thai acupressure with nurturing Swedish techniques. It eased deep-set tension, boosted circulation, and delivered such blissful relaxation that I drifted off to sleep for at least 15 minutes.

The experience concluded with a cozy steam session in the suite’s private steam room, part of a luxurious setup that included two massage beds and a jacuzzi tub. This serene space, perfect for couples, also featured a separate section for storing personal items, a soft pair of slippers, and a plush robe that I never wanted to take off. A curated selection of oils completed the in-suite amenities. The steam room, which doubles as a shower, made for an invigorating end to the experience. I stepped out feeling truly renewed.

Before leaving, I highly recommend stopping by the gift shop next to the reception. You’ll find the RAS luxury skincare products used during the spa treatments, along with a lovely selection from Seva Home, a luxury home fragrance brand. Beyond their indulgent scents, Seva Home stands out for its mission, empowering underprivileged women through candle-making training and employment.
