After a successful stint of serving authentic Italian cuisine in Bandra for several years, Mia Cucina yet again recently opened its doors to the public. The brainchild of Chef Sanjay Kotian, Mia Cucina which literally means ‘My Kitchen’, is an Italian Bistro offering a casual dining experience. Located on Hill Road at C’est La Vie, we put to test this authentic Italian kitchen which is a 75 seater with interiors that are done by Ishita Arun
An image of a plane in motion and a natural feel to the place with sunlight pouring in through the big windows and indoor plants makes it stand out. We noticed that it offers an interesting spread from salads to stone baked pizzas, homemade pastas, meats braised in signature wines and char-grilled fish. Some of the contributions from the very Italian menu are Insalata Gorgonzola, Pizza Quattro Formaggio, Zucchini Ripiene, Pollo Alla Griglia, Tonno Fresco al Pomodori, and Italian Sodas to go along with it.
The Caesar Salad with Romaine, home-made croutons, parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing set a delicious tone to our meal ahead. Among the best was the Pizza Verdura Pizza with roasted veggie, black olives, jalapenos, parmesan, and mozzarella. We loved the Tagliatelle al Mascarpone e Spinaci which infused Home-made pasta, spinach and mascarpone cheese sauce in a scrumptious and nuanced manner.
The place does a mean Lasagna Tricolore. The baked pasta, spinach, artichoke, cherry tomato, parmesan sauce can win over even the most disgruntled taste-buds. Going to the Dolci, the Blueberry Cheesecake is what dessert dreams are made of. We relished the authentic flavours of this gastronomical paradise and we were sure we’d be back soon. With great interiors, lip-smacking food and a nice vibe, we are surely rooting for this one!
