As we drive a few minutes towards the azure waters of Cabo De Rama beach, we are awestruck by the ocean and the surrounding areas. We’re in Southern Goa and get to see this side of the beach destination for the first time ever. A few minutes later we reach Cabo Serai, our destination- an eco-conscious resort sprawling over 14 acres of lush native trees. Over a refreshing welcome drink, we take in the spectacular panoramic views of the ocean and surrounding areas as the property is perched at a height of over 100 feet.
Cabo Serai houses four luxury cottages and three tents. Our cottage comes with an expansive decked balcony perched prominently over lush greenery and looking out over the sea. To our delight, it offers the experience of waking up amid treetops, a sense of being immersed in nature – with panoramic views of the surrounding forest, cliffs and azure waters of the Arabian Sea. Spacious, airy, and luxuriously designed, it enhances the tropical sea breeze and the tranquil sound of the waves with luxury amenities that offer the utmost comfort. Think ocean-facing whilst being nestled in the privacy of a flourishing forest.
From books to games, the property surprised us with it all. Also on offer are yoga classes by highly acclaimed teachers to Ayurvedic massages and wellness programs cater to and can be uniquely curated to accommodate every guest’s individual needs. Of all the experiences offered here, we loved the dining under the stars one, under a star-studded sky with the musical sound of the waves. A wellness-focused menu is also available and based on Sattvik philosophy. We loved the use of local organic ingredients and dishes where freshness takes center-stage. From the Roasted Pumpkin Soup to the various curries and the Jaggery ice-cream, the food here is an integral aspect of the fabulousness that the resort offers.
The property happens to be home to an abundance of birdlife with over 85 different species of forest and marine birds. Perched above an expansive tree cover, the restaurant and rooms are ideally located for bird watching. A walk with the local guide in the morning and evening is a truly memorable experience for bird enthusiasts. There are also trails at Cabo Serai that takes guests past secluded beaches, winding streams, through dense forest and hidden caves. And for beach-bums, the Cabo de Rama beach is a stretch of white sand flanked by a coconut grove and steep cliffs, making this an extraordinarily picturesque beach. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the Indian Ocean Humpback dolphins that surf the surrounding waves.
The cliffs at Cabo Serai drop dramatically into the sea providing breath-taking views of the sunset from every location and are perfect to indulge in sundowners or high tea anywhere on the property. And finally, one aspect that makes the resort a winner is its polite and efficient staff that go the extra mile for you. Experiencing Cabo is true bliss: for lounging, sunbathing, bird watching, yoga, meditation, admiring spectacular Goan sunsets or catching the first rays of sunlight with a cup of locally sourced, organic coffee or just finding yourself!
