I’ve tried reams of luxury hotels and experienced the slice-of-the-cushioned life. So when I heard of a military-themed glamping resort in the lap of luxury, I had to try Della’s D.A.T.A. Resort which India’s first and only military-themed glamping resort. I was put up in one of the 27 luxurious glamping tents. 500 sq. feet each, my super luxurious glamping tents consisted of state-of-art amenities and features with all the comforts and amenities of a five star resort for the discerning luxe-loving traveler.
The journey through rocky roads seemed all worth it once I reached the property to the grand welcome where I was honoured to light diyas. I met colonel and the entire team who stood together, warmly welcoming me. After a refreshing welcome-drink, I was all set for the introduction by the colonel who explained to me the concept behind the property and why it was of the essence in today’s world awash with terror and conflicts.
Among all the offerings, the private patio had to be the best. It allowed me to take full advantage of the spectacular views. These are furnished with a spacious double bed with 9″ luxurious memory foam mattresses and custom-designed bespoke furniture. Each room is equipped with 42-inch flat screen TVs, Cable, telephones, a fully equipped mini bar, tea/coffee makers and an electronic safe in the room. All rooms comprise of private bathrooms with twin vanity counters, contemporary shower cubicles, steam rooms, Jacuzzi and luxurious bath amenities.
Over the next two days, I spent my time indulging in physical training. In between training, I spent time at The Gurkha Lounge at D.A.T.A which is a stylish space. It was something I found to be an ideal setting for relaxed gatherings. The lounge pays a tribute to the fierce Gurkha infantry regiment which has a reputation of being amongst the finest and most feared soldiers in the world.
My meals at Salaam Manekshaw were scrumptious and well-plated. The military-themed 80 seater restaurant is a tribute to the legend and greatness of India’s most celebrated hero, Field Marshal Sam “Bahadur” Manekshaw. There is also a salon and spa for those looking for some me-time. Overall, it is safe to say that the resort is not only setting 5 star standards in the heart of a jungle but has infused the hospitality space with a new dynamic that pays tributes the brave-hearts. It absolutely opens your eyes to how important physical training and endurance is and how the military gives their heart and soul for us. This one is unlike any themed-resorts. And that is its beauty!
