Puma designs 150 piece limited collection as a tribute to Virat Kohli ahead of the England World Cup

I opened my Instagram this morning to catch Virat Kohli gazing fondly at a pair of Puma shoes. Now, these precious limited-edition signature shoes have been designed for the ace cricketer on occasion of the much-awaited World Cup in England.

The Puma Spike 19.1 is part of the brand’s lightweight collection; with the focus on optimal support, cushioning and breathable mesh. Only 150 pieces will be hitting the shelves at a price point of Rs. 19,999; rather affordable for a limited-edition collection, I think. The first pair from the collection will be auctioned off in London this summer.

Reacting to this tribute, Kohli said: “I am humbled to receive this special treatment. With a very important tournament ahead of us, I’m excited to take the field in custom-made Golden Shoe. I have always loved white and gold and the design truly complements my needs in terms of the fit and style.”

While the athletic features are essential, it has oodles of aesthetic value – bathed in warm soothing tones of white and golden, and studded with sensational golden spikes, the shoes feature Virat’s favourite colours.
