Porsche has launched the track-focused 911 GT2 RS in India priced at Rs. 3.88 Cr

Almost a year after its global debut at Goodwood, Porsche has launched the 911 GT2 RS in India with a price tag of Rs 3.88 crore (ex-showroom). It is not only the most powerful but also the fastest road-legal variant of the 911 ever made, which went on to set the fastest lap around the famous Nurburgring of 6 minutes and 47.3 seconds. “This is a great day for sports car fans in India,” said Pavan Shetty, Director of Porsche India. “The 911 GT2 RS is the concentration of Porsche’s motorsport expertise into one high-performance model that also masters everyday driving. Despite its superior racing dynamics, this top 911 model is as predictable and reliable to handle as any other Porsche. We are seeing an increasing demand for true sports cars in India, and with vehicles like the 911 GT2 RS, we are confident Porsche is well placed to meet that demand and offer a truly unique driving experience on the road and the racetrack.”

The track-focused sports car is powered by 3.8-liter flat-six engine which produces 700 horsepower and 750Nm of torque. That’s an increase of 80hp and 50Nm of torque over its predecessor. With a full tank of fuel, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS weighs 1470kgs and it is capable of going from zero to 100kmph in a blistering 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 340kmph. The new model is the first 911 GT2 RS to be equipped with a double-clutch transmission. Porsche customised the PDK gearbox specially for the model and offers special features designed for the track. Porsche is also offering the Weissach package as an optional extra in the country which further reduces the weight of the car by another 30kgs.
