Luxury pen and watch maker Montegrappa is commending the upcoming World Cup with the Icon Series dedicated to Pele. The series celebrate notable figures in the fields of sport, culture and entertainment, has dedicated 2014 to the Brazilian player who changed the game for alltime.
The Italian company is the world’s oldest manufacturer of luxury writing instruments, has launched two pens in honor of the footballer. Joining the leagues of previous Icons including Muhammad Ali, Bruce Lee, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, the Pele series will have two pens Heritage and Limted Edition P10. The Heritage models are available with solid gold or silver trim and feature a crown with the words “All Hail The King” around its circumference. The Heritage solid silver trim edition consists of 1,283 fountain and rollerball pens, representing the number of goals Pelé scored during his career, however the gold edition is limited to 10 fountain pens and 10 roller balls, signifying his jersey number. The P10 model features silver trims inspired by the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, the colours of Brazil in enamel and a miniature football with a sapphire at its top. There are 1,940 pieces in total, in fountain pen, rollerball or ballpoint, representing the year of Pelé’s birth. The P10 edition also will be offered in an exclusive version consisting of 10 fountain pens and 10 rollerballs with solid 18carat gold trim.
