After creating a mark in Mumbai, London’s Michelin-starred dim sum restaurant and teahouse Yauatcha is now headed to Bangalore. The Chinese restaurant belongs to the same group that got Hakkasan in India, a few years ago.
Yauatcha Mumbai, a branch of Michelin starred Yauatcha London started functioning from December 2011, and the massive popularity of this branch has led to plans of opening its branches in other major Indian cities like Bangalore and Delhi. Yauatcha which will soon open its doors at 1 MG Road Mall, is poised at every angled. The restaurants specialises in offering over 50 different types of dim sums, special vegetarian delights and an array of desserts. The modern interpretation of the traditional Chinese Yauatcha is a 150-seat restaurant offers an all-day dining with dim sums, wok preparations, macaroons and petit gateaux. Like its Mumbai Branch, Yauatcha Bangalore is designed by the Paris-based architecture firm GBRH. It is expected to feature fish tanks and contemporary furnishings such as white Italian marble, blue glass screens and embroidered upholstery, which are also common to the London flagship.
Bangaloreans will see one of its branches soon at the 1 MG Road Mall. The prices of dim sums start at Rs.225 and can go up to Rs.950 for a portion. A meal for two, including alcohol, costs approximately Rs.5, 000.
