Diamond jeweller Nirav Modi made a splash at Sotheby’s auction in Hong Kong this year with an 88-carat diamond necklace which sold for $8 million. And, now he is spreading the diamond shine, with the launch of it’s flagship store in Mumbai.
Nirav Modi launched its flagship boutique in the heart of Mumbai’s iconic art district of Kala Ghoda. Spread over three levels, it boasts of a theatrical display, a bridal salon and swivelling display windows. Inside, a live installation of models wearing stunning jewels from NIRAV MODI collections ranging from their Lotus Collection, to the Luminance Collection and more impressed the guests. The décor featured fresh flowers and candles, which beautifully set the right mood for the glamorous evening.
The launch saw a mix of the city’s jewellery and luxury lovers in attendance, including Mehul Choksi, Tasneem Mehta, Roohi Jaikishan, Devita Saraf, Vispi and Lata Patel, Sharmila Thackeray, Chirag and Tanaaz Doshi, Ashika Pohoomul Mehta, Sooni Taraporevala, Dilip De, Anindita Nayar, Penny Patel and Nayantara Thacker. Inside, a live installation of models wearing stunning jewels from their Lotus collection, Luminance collection and more impressed the guests.
Nirav Modi is the first Indian jewellery designer to feature on the cover of a Christie’s catalogue, a distinction the auction house had hitherto reserved for internationally renowned brands such as Cartier, Van Cleef and Harry Winston.
