Seinfeld’s fans in India,get ready for a laugh-a-riot, as the veteran stand up comedian is all set to take a centre stage in Mumbai. Best known for playing a semi-fictional version of himself in the sitcom Seinfeld, he will be performing in Mumbai as part of the on-going Stage42 festival.
The festival aims to showcase artists and their experiences in comedy, theatre, music and food. Seinfeld’s shows will be held at the National Sports Club of India.The two shows in Mumbai will not only be Seinfeld’s first ever performance in India but all of Asia.It’s been 17 years since Seinfeld went off the air but, he hasn’t lost his comedy streak for sure. Stage42 festival, whose comedy lineup has already seen a show from critically-acclaimed comic Bill Burr, and will also see a nationwide tour by Russell Peters, alongside shows from a huge lineup of Indian comics including All India Bakchod, Pretentious Nights, Anuvab Pal, and more.
The Emmy and Golden Globe winning comedian, best known for playing a semi-fictional version of himself in what was one of most watched sitcoms ever, will be performing two shows at the Sardar Valabhai Patel Stadium at NSCI in Worli on 14 and 15 March. Tickets to the Jerry Seinfeld shows go on sale at 12 noon on February 13. Tickets start at Rs 7,500 and will be available on Insider.in
