Review: INOX Insignia at Atria Mall, Worli: An impressive 7-star movie experience

INOX Leisure, India`s premier multiplex chain, recently launched the uber-luxurious INOX Insignia at Atria Mall, Worli. Given my penchant for all things luxury, it was about time that I experience it for myself. So I zeroed on the Sonakshi Sinha and Siddharth Malhotra starrer-Ittefaq to experience the luxury movie experience.

Interior impression
By the looks of it, you could mistake the lobby of the theatre for a 5-star hotel with its classy art deco interior comprising gorgeous lines, patterns, and curves. An intriguing aspect is the curated collection of movie memorabilia outside. All this together already set my mood for a grand movie-watching experience.

The experience
A feature which particularly impressed me was the high-tea amenity which enables guests to enjoy a decadent Victorian ritual of an afternoon tea or coffee, served with scones, tarts, and other delights. As I was escorted by my host and seated on the comfy reclining chair, I loved the attention to detail and comfort the seating ensured. Think Italian leather seats, movable tray holder, bottle holder, cuddle pillow and blanket.

The touch-screen buttons allow you to adjust the leg-rest, back-rest, and head-rest. Also there is a butler on call button and a USB charging port, so that you don’t miss out on recharging your smartphones. The warm and friendly staff add up to the comfort factor and ensure you are treated nothing less than a VIP. Their uniforms, I was told are exclusively crafted by celebrity designer Arjun Khanna.

Going to the technology aspect, the Laserplex screens, the Dolby Atmos sound and 3D by Volfoni Systems add to the spectacular cinematic experience. Binging on the tempting bucket of cheese, caramel and salted popcorns, I was impressed by the picture and sound quality and also my movie pick which had enough suspense to keep things ticking over.

Food factor
Move over monotonous cold sandwiches because the menu at Insignia is curated by celebrity chef, Vicky Ratnani. I was definitely spoilt for choice when it came to food options. Ultimately, I decided to go with the Kulcha and kebab platter and Hariyali-spiced Biryani. We cannot recommend the platter enough, given the melt-in-the-mouth affair that the kebabs proved to be. The biryani with cardamom, dry fruits, crunchy opinions and perfectly melded flavours was another culinary delight. The cinema houses the renowned pastry outlet, Theobrama for anyone who wishes to call for dessert. I chose on the signature drool-worthy Baked Cheesecake that ended my lip-smacking meal just right! I also learned of the first ever in-app food ordering service by Insignia which gives you access to your food without even leaving your seat.

Overall impression
The comfy reclining chairs, commendable hospitality, butler on call service and luscious food added the cinema experience a notch up. As I devoured a smart, gripping whodunit which kept me thrilled and guessing, it felt like all my senses from my eyes to my taste-buds were being treated. I loved how INOX Insignia infuses the movie experience with luxury and highly recommend it for an opulent cinematic experience.
