In a bid to add a touch of elegance to mundane office supplies, French luxury fashion house Hermès, has recently launched a state-of-the-art stationery line in the city. From leather accessories such as calfskin writing sets to silk-covered notebooks and postcards to stainless steel cartridge boxes the exquisite collection comprises of all your day to day office needs with a classic Hermès spin. The products on offer are available in rich hues such as dark brown, red and sapphire blue while the silk notebooks and postcards are also available in a whole host of different delightful colors.
The pièce de résistance of this impressive collection is the Nautilus pen. Created in collaboration with Australian designer Marc Newson and Japanese company Pilot the technically advanced pen took almost three years to perfect. The Nautilus is a capless pen crafted out of stainless steel and solid aluminum. The pen is fitted with a rhodium plated white gold nib and is available as both – a ballpoint as well as a fountain pen. Ink cartridges for the stunning pen are available in not only carbon blue and black but in signature Hermès colors of H red and ebony and blood orange as well.
Artistic Director at Hermès, Pierre-Alexis Dumas, believes, “The Nautilus pen marks the birth of a new family of Hermès objects, created to capture your emotions, impressions and ideas on the spur of the moment.” The much-anticipated pen will only be launched at selected Hermès boutiques worldwide in September this year. However, the stationery-collector in you need not fret, the remaining range of exciting products has already made its way down to Mumbai’s shores and is now available at the brand’s sole store in the city at Horniman Circle.
