Gifting boutique Provenance occupies a prominent position in Mumbai’s Palladium Mall

If you’re perplexed about gifting a special someone and you’re quite blasé about the hum-drum choices offered these days, Palladium’s latest Provenance store is the answer. Avani Raheja and Samir Gadhok of Burgundy Hospitality are determined to replace those monotonous gifting options with a myriad selection of gourmet treats and products.

The chic 17 seater cafe is accompanied by a tasteful gift boutique, and is home to the only ‘Mirage’ in India – a custom-made, expressionistic coffee machine hand-built by Kees Van Der Westen in the Netherlands and imported exclusively for the brand.

If Burgundy Hospitality does not ring a bell, let me tell you that beloved brands like ROYCE’ Chocolate, Papabubble and Onitsuka Tiger have been launched by the them itself. What I love about Provenance is its fine selection of gourmet gifts from across the globe. Think Belgian chocolate and French croissants imported from the Brittany region, to Chocolate Dragees sourced from the coastal town of Pireaus in Greece. We’re even talking artistic cakes from Tier Nom, craft coffee roasted by Koinonia, and gourmet gifts from Sustenance. The primary focus of the brand is heritage, lineage and origin.

“At Provenance, we want to offer the perfect gift for a thoughtful and discerning individual. We have handpicked each product with one theme in mind – does this product embody the love, history or magic of the maker? We are passionate about telling stories and Provenance is the story of the maker and their origins, craftsmanship and passion,” says Avani.

Samir says, “Provenance is six years in the making. While on our travels, Avani and I would often stumble across beautiful products that we would have loved to introduce in India. However, there was no place here to showcase small-batch, heritage and boutique brands, either local or foreign, in a respectful and compelling way. With Provenance, we hope to offer thoughtful brands from India and across the world, a platform to tell their stories and share their passion.”

Designed by Zameer Basrai of The Busride Design Studio, the store has the most interesting vibe! Dotted with Mediterranean-inspired cabinets, and brass lighting, the concept has been curated with avid discoverers in mind.

The in-store gifting service is one to talk about with gift stylists trained to curate custom-make and personalise gifts for any occasion. Provenance also retails an exclusive collection of greeting cards, official cartoons from The New Yorker magazine, along with a range of wrapping paper sourced from Italy.
