Leading taxi hailing app Ola has joined hands with luxury carmaker BMW to redefine on demand luxury mobility in India. Ola is believed to have around half a million drivers on its platform and service. Ola Lux, is available in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru to begin with and Hyderabad will soon follow suit.
Ola already has tie ups with luxury car makers Mercedes and Jaguar and also with Mahindra and Tata Motors. Other brands like Maruti Suzuki, Toyota and Nissan also have such association with aggregators.
The Ola, BMW partnership is not exclusive, but will offer 100% financing from BMW Finance, assured buyback and two year free insurance maintenance. Ola Lux is already available with about 100 luxury cars from Mercedes, Jaguar and Audi and it hopes to take the number of super premium cars to 1000 with the BMW tie up over the next few years.

Ola Lux is available for booking at a minimum fare of Rs 250 and Rs 20-22 for additional km. The government is eeking to impose a hefty rs 2.6 lakh permit fee for high end cars on such platforms. If implemented, customers will be the victims as they will have to pay extra for a luxurious ride.
