Its been a year since the RS7 Sportback was launched in India and today Audi introduced its replacement – A facelift to the sleek sleeper car. As a trained eye will notice the front and rear bumpers have minor tweaks, the head and tail lamps are completely new along with an option of Matrix LED headlamps which will light up the road ahead in a million different ways. Under the hood its the same 4.0-litre TFSI twin-turbo V8 engine which churns out 560 horses that propel the car from a 0 to 100 in a claimed 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 305 km/hr. The humongous 700Nm of torque is tamed by the 8 speed S-Tronic transmission which channels the power to all the four wheels or as Audi calls it Quattro all wheel drive.
Keeping this beast green is the Cylinder on demand technology which shuts off four cylinders in city or should I say boring driving, but the moment you press the throttle the remaining 4 cylinders will come to life instantly to set your adrenalin pumping. The RS7 delivers a claimed 10.5 kms to a liter. The facelift reflects in the interiors with a redesigned instrument panel with AC controls, Quattro badging and shiny paddle shifters. You can spend some more green for an nVidia powered infotainment system and Bose surround sound. Keeping you safe, comfortable and in control of this power are a shot of technologies which include Dynamic Ride control, adaptive air suspension, ESP, ABS and self locking center differential that distributes the drive force between the front and rear axles depending on the driving conditions. Coming through the CBU rates the 5-door 2015 Audi RS7 Sportback is priced at 1.4 crores in the city. The RS7 goes headon against the BMW M6 Grand Coupe which will also be getting a facelift later this year.
